ABOUT ME

Training

I am Clifford Sax: a qualified Therapeutic Sound Practitioner and teacher. I trained at the British Academy of Sound Therapy and qualified in 2004.

I have a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (Canterbury Christchurch) and a Masters Degree in Education (University of Sussex).

Experience

I have worked professionally, with therapeutic sound, for 17 years. I taught for 8 years, as senior tutor, at The British Academy of Sound Therapy and, since moving to Kent 7 years ago, I have worked in a mainstream setting teaching  young adults with SEN.

My sound work has dovetailed with that role through workshops, 1-2-1 client work, and retreat work.

From September 2021, I will be teaching a 'Therapeutic Sound for Health and Wellbeing' course at Kent Adult Education (Broadstairs).

My Approach

My work is informed by a deep understanding of the transformative power of sound.

Therapeutically, I take a non-directive, client centred approach and utilise the Cooper / Sax Model of Experiential Processing (see 'Therapeutic Model' page on this website).

My sound work is grounded in solid research whilst also acknowledging the subtle, energetic and intangible aspects of how we experience sound and our own personal process.
