AFTERCARE & CONTRA-INDICATIONS

BEFORE SOUND

BEFORE SOUND

Therapeutic Sound is a very safe modality with very few contraindications. There are, however, clients I am unable to work with.

BEFORE considering therapeutic sound, please note the following groups I am unable to treat.

  • Clients with epilepsy (frequency induced or otherwise)
  • Clients in the first trimester of pregnancy
  • Clients with the following mental disorders: schizophrenia, Bipolar disorder, psychosis, dissociative identity disorder, and schizoaffective disorder.

Please note that whilst the likelihood of adverse reactions is extremely rare, your safety is paramount. If you have any questions please contact me.

AFTER SOUND

BEFORE SOUND

BEFORE SOUND

What you do AFTER sound, is an important part of your personal process WITH the sound. It creates the ideal conditions for you to be able to benefit from your experience. To best support your personal process, please note the recommendations.

  • Keep hydrated by drinking water. Hydration aids the cleansing / rebalancing process.
  • Go easy on the alcohol and other recreational substances. You may be more sensitive than usual and a little may go a long way!
  • Eat a light meal following any sound work
  • With more intensive 1-2-1 work, there may be emotional releasing. Honour this process by giving yourself permission to release in a safe way. Scream into a pillow, have a good cry, take a nurturing walk in nature, have a reflective stroll by the sea. Whatever works for you is good.
  • Be mindful of your process – especially if having a series of treatments. Maybe keep a diary of your response to the sound. This will help better facilitate your healing journey.
  • Remember that the process facilitated by the sound may continue for a few days.
